Geetha's approach with osteopathic treatments have been so effective and gentle. My neck and back pains have settled down, I now have preventative Osteopath care as a means of keeping my aches and pains to a minimum (or to none). Thank you so much.

Osteopathy

Osteopaths are considered primary carers who diagnose and treat mechanical disorders of the body. Osteopathy is considered a manual therapy that encompasses treating the whole body, using a wide range of manual therapy techniques. Osteopaths successfully treat soft tissue elements such as muscles, ligaments, tendons, the nervous system and organs along with skeletal elements such as the joints and spine. Osteopathy treatment focuses not only on the injury/disorder, but more importantly our Osteopaths are skilled to identify the primary cause and educate people on how to prevent it from recurring. Here at our Hawthorn centre, our team of highly qualified osteopaths regularly prescribe exercises such as Pilates as an integral part of treatment. Osteopathic care at Soma is available to all ages from newborn babies through to the elderly, using gentle but effective treatment techniques. Specialising in pregnancy related pains and pediatric osteopathic care.

Osteopaths treat a variety of conditions including:

  • Back Pain
  • Sciatica
  • Joint Pain and Arthritis
  • Sports Injuries
  • Headaches and migraines
  • Pregnancy related pains
  • Chronic fatigue and fibromyalgia
  • Irritable bowel and digestive problems
  • Asthma and respiratory issues
  • Disc injuries and chronic back pain

Osteopathy is recognised for rebate under private health insurance by all major health funds. Medicare now recognises Osteopaths under the Enhanced Primary Care system, providing a rebate for Osteopathic care with a referral from your GP for up to 5 treatments. Work cover and TAC coverage is also available.
